My four engineering degrees set a LIMCA record, FIE & FCILT. Awards : PATWA International Young Achievers Award. Ministry of Railways National Award. Lifetime achievement award. Two National Awards of Ministry of Tourism, Govt of India. “Ashwani Garden” was created at Patratu, Bihar. Set a Guinness World Record in 1998 by running the Fairy Queen Express. Piloted the nomination of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway and the Mahabodhi Temple at Bodhgaya as World Heritage sites. Worked as Chairman, Railway Board, CMD of Air India, CMD of ITDC and head of MP Tourism.As MD of MP Tourism achieved a turnaround of the corporation and brought the state in the forefront of Indian tourism. Brought about major improvements in Air India during twin tenures as CMD. As CRB took Railways down the transformation path and brought about major improvements. Earned rare appreciation from the CAG during the CWG. Received Eminent Engineer & Governance Award. Wrote two books - Smoking Beauties on steam locomotives and Winning at Work against all odds, a book on management. Also authored a comprehensive report on Rail Heritage and Tourism
